Ugo is a man who lives to be outdoors. A trail runner, hiker, cyclist and mountain biker, he’ll try anything that takes him into nature. When he’s not doing this, he’ll be a guest speaker at outdoor events, discussing the subjects or practising combat sports.
Discovery and new places feed his passion for travelling and when this combines with the chance to compete in ultra races in exotic destinations like the Transgrancanaria in the Canary Islands, then he is happy.
Ugo took up running in 2014 and will admit that sometimes he pushes himself too hard. But he has built up an impressive ability to manage the pain and stress inflicted on the body whilst running. It is a testament to his mental strength and drives him en route to his objectives.
It is important because he runs for a love of performing and to see his body in a better shape, allowing him to achieve more or the same but with greater ease.
In his sights is trimming his UTMB time and then after this, in the coming years, he aims to turn professional to allow greater time to race, recover and reduce injuries.
Why Altra?
I love running with Altra shoes because their roomy foot shape contains and support my feet comfortably.
What's your favourite Altra Shoe?
My favourite shoe is the Olympus 6 because it's comfort enables me to handle downhills very well, which is fundamental for the overall racing performance. I also love the Lone Peak 9+, Mont Blanc Carbon, and Timp 5.
